This unique 13th century border fortress from is one of the best preserved castles in Slovakia. Among the many historical uniques is worth mentioning at least a few facts. The castle was once the private seat of the Spanish Princess Isabelle de Bourbon Zamoyski, but it was also the place where the King of Madagascar Maurice Beňovský was prisoner.
The Creativity of the castle will surprise you its historical atmosphere, as well as by guides in period costumes.
Within the castle are hidden the Polish coronation castle treasures, a historic brewery, architecture of defense mechanisms, exhibition of historical furniture and sacred art. In the contemporary open-air museum may be found original wooden architecture of the North Spiš region and icons from the 17th to 19th centuries.
